DESIGNTHIS!, the woman-led Napa Valley creative agency known for bold branding and original storytelling, has earned dual accolades for its work on Prophet & Poet, a newly launched luxury wine brand helmed by a powerhouse partnership that includes actress-producer Jessica Biel and legendary winemaker Jesse Katz. The evocative, Tarot-inspired packaging clinched a 2025 GDUSA American Packaging Design Award and the 2025 WIN Marketing Award for Packaging Design in April.
From the ethereal bottles to the immersive unboxing experience, Prophet & Poet’s design tells a story in six senses. Each of the Jesse Katz-crafted wines is presented as a unique chapter in a mystical literary collection—evoking emotion, curiosity, and reverence. Details like embossed textures, custom illustration, antique closures and foil-stamped vellum were carefully chosen to elevate the ritual of wine, long before the bottle is opened.
“Prophet & Poet is a journey through story and sensation,” said Kim Shaeffer, Founder & CEO of DESIGNTHIS! “It was such a pleasure to work on a project where vision, craft, and emotion align so seamlessly. This recognition is deeply meaningful.”
Actress and co-founder Jessica Biel reflected on the brand’s essence in InStyle: “There’s this duality in all of us—the logical side, and the side that dreams. This wine is a reflection of that.”
Crafted by Jesse Katz, the acclaimed winemaker behind some of California’s most sought-after labels, the inaugural Prophet & Poet vintage launched with a national media campaign and has already amassed top scores and a growing waitlist.
Mandi Ackerman, VP of Sales for Prophet & Poet, added: “DESIGNTHIS! brought the vision to life. The packaging isn’t just a container—it’s a conversation, a statement of who we are and what we stand for.”
With almost three decades of innovative storytelling and design experience, DESIGNTHIS! leveraged their deep expertise with the consumer journey as well as their intimate understanding of client identity and vision. These recent honors recognize the influence of branding as both an art form and strategic advantage in the wine industry.
